Jonathan Kilmer

I was born and raised in Tunkhannock, PA and began my restaurant career at The Shadowbrook Dairy Bar as a Bus Boy at the age of 15. After working there through my high school years I realized I would like to pursue a career in the hospitality business and ventured off to Penn State University. I soon realized in order to be well rounded in the Hospitality business I needed to become involved in the hotel side of the business and devoted my college years working at The Nittany Lion Inn. After graduating in 1999, I found Cocoa Beach to be my new home and began my career at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Cocoa Beach. I spent three wonderful years there learning as much as possible from Maureen Harrell about the hotel business, sales, marketing, and any other information I could gather. During my years there I met many wonderful friends and business associates including my current business partners Brandon Stone and Nathan Weis. In 2003, I began my first business in Cocoa Beach which is still in operation as Made in the Shade Beach Rentals located just north of the pier. This business eventually led to this next exciting opportunity in my life…The Omelet Station!

I was born and raised in Upstate NY “not Buffalo” I mean really upstate Watertown to be exact. After making a few visits with my mother to some culinary schools on a whim I decided on Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. What started out as a 2 year degree turned into a 6 year stint ending with an Associates degree in culinary arts, a Bachelors in foodservice management and a Masters in foodservice education! What can I say the college life was oh so fun!! Once I pried myself from school I decide warm weather and water was the way to go and Cocoa Beach happened to be the lucky location for my high school sweatheart and I to start our careers and our family(presently 2 boys and 2 dogs). After building relationships and skills and life experiences including the Holiday Inn, Ruby Tuesdays, 1 near death experience, and 1 missed honeymoon I decided, along with others, that it was time to try something on our own. So with a little help from a friend in the Washington DC area, Jonathan and I jumped at the chance to open our first full service establishment on A1A in Cocoa Beach. Smack dab in the middle of The Bestwestern and Days Inn properties and 2 blocks from the pier, who could ask for anything more!!
